[Men's Fashion] Tokyo Flash

When I think of Tokyo, there are two things that come to my mind...

1. Amazingly fun electronics
2. Cutting edge fashion!

Tokyo flash has taken those two things and married them quite harmoniously. Tokyo Flash has created a line of some futuristic, fun and cutting edge watches.

Each piece is totally different and unique. Telling time varies from model to model. You MUST read the accompanied booklet in order to understand how the time is displayed. (Which will take less than five minutes. I promise.)

(The Shinshoku)

The Shinshoku (pictured above) is all metal and has the perfect weight. The LED's are not constantly on, which makes the Shinshoku look like a nice metal cuff. With the push of a button he LED's come alive and you are on your way to complete punctuality! No matter where I am if I have my Shinshoku on a conversation is sure to be had. Tokyo flash is FUN and would make the perfect addition to any modern chic male's collection.

SPOTLIGHT: Roberto Cavalli's Club Cavalli

Roberto Cavalli opened up his $30 million hot spot, Club Cavalli, in Dubai. Recession, what recession?  As Cavalli explains, "Beautiful things are expensive and take time to create."
Club Cavalli is complete with a requisite restaurant, Swarovski crystals hanging from the ceiling, and furniture with animal-print upholstery. In other words, it's SO Cavelli.  He hopes to open up another club in Milan.  How about New York, Roberto?  Sigh. I guess until then we'll just enjoy your lustful decor.

CFDA's Fashion for Haiti

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) is set to launch a $25 "Fashion for Haiti" T-shirt to raise money for the victims of the natural disaster.  The short sleeved shirt will be designed by Theory and available on February 12th at retailers across the country.

The effects of this natural disaster has such an impact on everyone from all ages, races and places. I recently had the pleasure of receiving a very sweet email from a friend. Her 4 year old son worked with another child in school to create the letter below...

Trend Report: SPIKES

It was no coincidence that Givenchy, Zac Posen and Giles featured spikes down the runway during their Fall 2009 shows.  Spikes are showing up all over the place in different forms. You can tryout this trend by simply wearing a subtle (or not so subtle) spike headband...

However I might opt to rock the studded high heel instead.
Are you going to try this trend?

Manual vs. Power Toothbrush Challenge

Ok, so I was put to the Manual vs. Power Toothbrush Challenge by Phillips Sonicare.  I had two weeks to use a manual toothbrush then the following two weeks to use the Philips Sonicare FlexCare+

Here are my results...

The Philips Sonicare FlexCare 900+  blew the socks off of my manual toothbrush. Of course I expected this however what I didn't expect is the 'just visited the dentist' smooth feeling my teeth had every time I used it. I literally could feel my tongue slipping and sliding along my teeth.  Let's just say my manual toothbrush is going out the window! I would definitely recommend this toothbrush to family and friends, especially those who don't frequent the dentist.

This brush is just that good.

{Men's Fashion} Paris & Milan Fashion Week

While Spring 2010 will show us many nautical and travel inspired lines, here is a look at what you may be wearing next fall. This is my personal "Best Of" Paris & Milan.
The future is now at VERSACE

Fall and winter 2010 will be a glimpse into the not to distant future for Versace. The collection contains many fabrics with a subtle shine and metallic properties.

I find the Wide-Neck knits, multi zipper pants and finger gloves modern and edgy. My favorite collections are modern, fun and have a high volume of wearable pieces. Versace does not disappoint.

Ringside with JEAN PAUL GAULTIER

The Jean Paul Gaultier show was like a fight night at Caesars Palace. Onlookers actually sat ringside to a Live "boxing" match. The entire collection is inspired by all that is boxing. From the cut of the everyday looks to the class of the formal wear every piece tied in nicely and was tastefully done.

Old World Industry at GIORGIO ARMANI

The entire collection reminds me of 1920's aviation. It has an Old World feel with a modern high fashion steam-punk twist. The Wright brothers would certainly be proud.

I have always been a footwear type of guy. I am excited to see some of the boots from these collections. I really like the Gaultier boots and hope I can find something Gaultier-esque for next winter. What are your thoughts?

Financial Chic Fridays

It's time to introduce another exciting feature...
 Financially Chic Fridays!

The inspiration for this idea came to me a week ago when my favorite financial guru, Suze Orman,  informed me of a book signing event she would be at Union Square.  The event was packed with women hungry for Suze to answer their financial questions.  It then dawned on me what a huge gap there still is between women and their money.

(Note to my male readers:  you could learn from this too!)

Ok, first let me rewind. It was 2007 when I discovered Suze Orman. I had just completed my masters at NYU and was left with the real world & student loans staring at me in the face. I needed guidance quick, so I headed to the library, looked under finance and 9 Steps to Finanical Freedom caught my eye. The title said it all. I was looking for financial freedom...aren't we all? Within the first few pages Suze had me hooked. Her approach to finances is not the typical cut and dry. Suze encourages us to face our views of money and know our worth!  Needless to say, I have been following her advice and gotten a grip on my finances.  Three years later I am working less, making more and living the life how I truly want to be. Hmm, imagine that!

Suze always encourages us to take time to educate ourselves, so I have made it a habit to keep myself in the "know" with personal finances. I have come across other financial gurus with great advice & outlooks as well bloggers.  ACCIDENTAL Chic is a place where you come to get inspired, therefore I want to inspire you to live your most financially chic life.

Starting NOW...

Besides losing weight, most people resolute to get their finances straight for the new year.  I recommend starting off 2010 with Suze's Women & Money or 9 Steps To Financial Freedom. Either of these books well change your outlook on your personal finances - SERIOUSLY.

Until next Friday, stay (financially) chic! xo

SPOTLIGHT: Taylor Jacobson

Today's spotlight goes to my favorite up & coming fashion stylist, Taylor Jacobson. You may recognize her from Bravo's Rachel Zoe Project. Since the airing of Season 2, Taylor decided to pursue a fashion styling career independently. Well Tay, ACCIDENTAL Chic totally supports you!

Taylor's everyday essentials; Ray Ban Wafers, OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark and Baby Powder.

You're probably wondering what the baby powder is about, right?  She uses the baby powder to keep her platinum locks refreshed and it helps keep that matte, piecey look she loves.

Can't get enough of Tay? Well good news, she will be writing a weekly blog on Everyday Minerals called LOVE, TAYLOR.  Check it out!

Tuesday's Trend Report: Denim Leggings

The Legging Era continues...

Lately denim leggings are showing up every where, a new twist and option to this trend. Whitney Port adores her Charly 5.0 denim leggings and wears them well.  Personally I live in my black leggings or skinny jeans at least 4 out the 7 days of the week, so I am excited the denim legging has arrived!
Ladies, remember leggings are NOT pants therefore one should only wear a top that covers your booty. Preferably one that is mid-thigh length. I found Juicy Couture Denim Leggings at Bloomingdales.com on sale for $53.

Are you going to try out this trend?

[Men's Fashion] Talbot's Seven Fold Ties

It's never a bad idea to wear a necktie. A tie is an easy way to add a sense of class and chicness to any look. I use my tie as an expression of me, usually worn loosely and top button undone.

My favorite quality of tie is the seven fold. Seven folds are completely handmade and lay perfectly. Most other styles of ties may contain a layer of "filler" fabric that tends to give the tie a clumping or uneven appearance.

Talbots Seven Fold Ties

A Seven fold tie may be pricey, however this is nothing wrong with pairing pieces from different price points. The more expensive tie will perfectly compliment any moderately prices shirt.

Whether your tie be skinny or full...
Mix & Match,
Have Fun,

BE YOU!
