Financial Chic: Fashion Without Guilt

I had the pleasure of meeting Breck, creator of Fashion Without Guilt during New York Fashion Week in February.  A lover of fashion and finance we instantly clicked. She is a perfect example of acheiving that balance between enjoying fashion and being responsible at the same time.

How do you create a balance between being fashionably and financially chic?

I say that I balance being Fashionably and financially chic is having a great balance of wanting quality but always being willing to find a deal.

I would say that I get my true balancing influence from my mom being a single mother and having to shop conservatively and my dad having a NY state of mind that you never have to pay what is on the price tag. I have taken after both of them in my spending habits. I always shop on sale and if I see something that I want and it not in the price bracket that I willing to pay, I wait and seems to always find what I am looking for eventually for what I am willing to spend.

What's one financial tip/advice you would give to someone?

Umm that is a hard one but if I had to choose only one I would say always save for a rainy days because they are always around the corner. Life is setup to always have unexpected situations so having some type of financial cushion can make unexpected scenarios in life a lot smoother.

Are there any books, sites, other resources you would recommend?

I am a serial financial site reader so I will give you just a few sites that I personally enjoy.

Budgets Are Sexy
Christian Personal Finance
My Dollar Plan
Wise Bread
Daily Worth
