Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge at NYFW

Design team Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams of Mitchell Gold+Bob Williams are this season's Design Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge designers, bringing their signature interpretation of comfort and warmth to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Bryant Park. Each season Mercedes-Benz partners with a designer to create a unique environment for its backstage Star Lounge. The lounge was inspired by the 2011 SLS AMG Mercedes-Benz and the key visual was photographed by Nick Knight.

A mix of furniture has been hand picked to have both contemporary and historical references, blending new with classic-inspired pieces. A white vinyl tufted bar with contrast silver buttons serves as a dramatic focal point upon entering the space with Nick Knight’s visual positioned above the bar. Two of the seating areas feature the Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Dr. Pitt loveseats slipcovered in a white faux suede, along with white Lucite coffee tables illuminated in red, and paired with cube ottomans in the Company’s new slick gunmetal vinyl fabric. Another seating section has four modern Alice chairs in the same gunmetal vinyl, surrounding a round Austin ottoman in a red cut chenille fabric.  At the other end of the lounge, a large, round Jeannie chair half covered in the same red chenille.  Three Corona pendant chandeliers add drama acting as a runway to the bar, along with two Nolita floor lamps at each end of the bar.  A tall white Lucite table illuminated in red serves as the check-in point, with two Brewster bar stools in white leather.

“We want guests to walk into the lounge and immediately feel as though they are transported into a hip lounge,” said Bob Williams, co-founder/president of design.  “We hope our lounge will serve as a comfortable and stylish retreat during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.”
