Lily Allen the new face of Chanel

English pop singer and songwriter, Lily Allen, is the new face of Chanel. Lagerfield was inspired by the classic film Breakfast at Tiffany's to promote their Coco Cocoon collection. I love it!

FOXY Originals creates recycled chic

FOXY Originals is a fabulous jewelry line that is committed to adopting "green" practices. I came across this very reasonably priced accessory line through word of mouth. One look on the website and I am hooked. The scallop necklace in silver on the right is my go-to necklace right now.

FOXY has also collaborated with Barbie and created super fun earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets. I received tons of compliments on the Barbie Collage Earrings. My ears are highly sensitive and these earrings did not bother my ears one bit. It's evident that FOXY Originals is high quality jewelry without the high prices.

Model as Muse Exhibit, take 3

Ok, I admit I can't get enough of the Model as Muse exhibit at The Met. I went to for the third time last Thursday and was able to sneak a few snap shots before being scolded by a security guard. Note: photos are not allowed because The Metropolitan Museum does not own the rights to the exhibit. Fair enough. Enjoy!

Lilly Pulitzer teams up with Florida's Natural

It All Started With a Juice Stand…

Lilly Pulitzer is squeezing the Juice out of its 50th Anniversary Jubilee by partnering with Florida’s Natural citrus. The largest domestic citrus producer in the U.S. will be issuing one million limited-edition Lilly print Florida’s Natural juice cartons to be distributed throughout the country. Lilly Pulitzer and Florida’s Natural are proudly committed to breast cancer awareness and will be donating a percentage of the proceeds from these colorful Ruby Red juice cartons to directly support breastcancer.org and their wonderful work. A partnership between Lilly Pulitzer and Florida’s Natural is only natural of course! As the Lilly Pulitzer story goes, it ALL started with a juice stand…When young Lilly moved to Palm Beach from her posh lifestyle in New York City she needed a hobby. As the Pulitzer family owned an operated many of the citrus groves in Florida, Lilly opened a juice stand in Palm Beach off the fashionable Worth Avenue. She needed a juice stand uniform to mask the citrus juice stands so she had her seamstress whip up a colorful shift. Soon her jet-set friends, including school chum Jackie Kennedy, wanted her dress more than her juice and soon enough the Lilly Pulitzer Classic Shift became a national sensation. Fast forward 50 years and the brand is still honoring its “juicy” roots by joining forces with one of America’s favorite juice brands, Florida’s Natural!

Anna Sui designs for Target!

Rumor has it Anna Sui will be designing for Target. Her collection will be available in September. Some say the inspiration for the collection comes from the show 'Gossip Girl', however others are saying Sui denies that. Here is a sneak peek into her collection and you be the judge.

Book Review: I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti

I finally was able to finish I Love, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti by Giulia Melucci. You have probably seen this book on display at Borders or Barnes & Nobles. It's every where I turn! I recommend this book for those hopeless romantics and foodies out there.

They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, however this is not the case for Melucci. In her deliciously hilarious memoir, Melucci shares her love experiences over the past two decades. What makes this such a great read is that she relates her (mainly dysfunctional) love life to the collection of recipes she wrote down along the way. A recipe index makes it a snap to find what sounded appetizing whether it is the Fried Eggplant, Garlic & Bok Choy, F$#k-you Cakes or Spaghettini in White Truffle Oil. As she traced her own pasta-littered path of romantic disaster she became the thing she wanted to be even more than a wife: a writer.

Does Melucci find true love at the end?

That's for me to know and you to find out!

I guess some things will never change...

Caught playing with my mother's accessories red-handed!
Notice the shopping bag, oh my, how young we start.

The pose + the layered socks w/the heels speaks for itself.

And Adri's all time favorite...
"you look like a piece of candy"
...don't be jealous of my pink ribbon detailing!
I have come to the realization that I have been striking a pose since I could stand on my own two feet.

What do your baby pictures say about you?
Take some time this weekend to reminisce!
Happy Friday, xo.

Baby Bubble Clothing

Baby Bubble Clothing is a unique line of maternity tees for mommy-to-be and her fabulous tummy.

In case you're too shy to say it, let you're tummy do the talking for you. Bubble Warnings are your first line of defense to avoid those socially inappropriate and often awkward encounters you may face as a mother-to-be.

This maternity line is pure genius and has been quite a hit among the mommy's-to-be in the city. My handful of pregnant friends will each be receiving one of these clever shirts from moi.

Each shirt is reasonably priced at $32 and right now, shipping is free!

Book Review: Hip Tranquil Chick

I really, really enjoyed reading Kimberly Wilson's Hip Tranquil Chick. It reminds me of Picasso's quote, "All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist as one grows up".

Over the past 6 months I have become quite the yogi. When I saw this book I knew I would love it. Personally, I feel everyone should practice yoga at least once a week. I think the world would be a better place. Ok, enough of me preaching...

This book helped motivate me to tap into my creative side which I feel gets ignored with mundane daily tasks. Kimberly addresses everything to do with your inner and outer chic. From infusing doses of creativity in your life to developing financial finesse. Since reading the book I have become frequent in journal writing, which I've always had a hard time doing before. Kimberly suggests ways to jump-start your journaling.

The tranquil inspiration doesn't stop after you're done reading the book, this hip tranquil chick has her own podcast & blog. I subscribed to it and have not been disappointed. Kimberly also created a line of organic yoga wear. Rumor has it she will be coming out with another book in 2010!

I dream of Chanel, tutus & Karl Lagerfeld

What do you get with 2,500 feathers & 100 hours of sewing by 3 seamstresses?

Karl Lagerfeld's latest creation for Chanel and the England National Ballet. Ah, what I would do to be in this prima ballerina's pointe shoes! Not only does she look goregous in this costume, she dances beautifully as well. You can view a video of her performing in the boutique on Chanel.com

Musings from the Museum at FIT

Aunt Kathy and I made our way downtown to the Isabel Toledo: Fashion from the Inside Out exhibit. Toledo's work is simply stunning! Unfortunately I was unable to take pictures. However, I found (and borrowed) some great photos from the blog Chic in Paris. This blogger attended the opening night and was able to take photos. My invite must have got lost in the mail, ha!

This exhibit is a must-see & while you are there check out the Fashion & Politics exhibit. Admission is FREE, so what are you waiting for?!

And last, but not least...
Michelle Obama's Inauguration Dress

I'm keeping an eye on Isabel Todelo's work. The creativity in Todelo's designs will have her in the spotlight again. I predict she will be a must-have designer in the near future.

Ola Hawaii's Cane Sugar Scrub

I finally got a chance to try Ola Hawaii's Cane Sugar Scrub in Coconut Lemongrass. I have heard rave reviews about this scrub and wanted to try it out for myself.

Verdict: FANTASTIC! Somehow I had a feeling I wouldn't be disappointed in this product after trying their amazing foot scrub.

What makes it so fantastic is that this scrub is 3 products in 1. You can use this scrub as your body wash, scrub and moisturizer. I swear to you I am not making this up! The scrub is strong enough to wash away odors yet gentle enough to leave your skin feeling smooth and moisturized. The coconut lemongrass scent that turns your shower into a tropical paradise is a just bonus feature.
