A little bit of heaven in a foot scrub

I have recently been introduced to Ola Hawaii. This organic, natural bath and body line is a little bit of heaven in a jar. Over the past few weeks I have been using the Volcanic Foot Scrub . Verdict? Love it. The scrub is coarse enough to get at dry skin without the feeling of being scratched (I hate that). Another pet peeve I have with scrubs is the amount of oil it contains and how it leaves you feeling slimy, even when you have rinsed off about five times. This foot scrub is PERFECT, there's no slimy feeling at all. My feet are going to be in fabulous shape whenever the sun decides to come out again.

Volcanic Foot Scrub, 10 oz. $24

Next on my list is to try their line of body scrubs...stay tuned.

Stripes + Florals

A spring trend to do...or at least try.
Why not mix it up and do the unpredictable like Whitney.

Feeling daring?
Mix a floral top with black-and-white stripes or tan-and-navy.
If your not feeling so daring,
stick with the same color family as your floral top.

Capezio takes ballet slippers to another level

Capezio has debuted studded ballet slippers for the 'trina fashionista.
Telling by the full sole of the slipper it seems to be targeted at the young beginner ballerina. Don't think you would catch me or my fellow dancers waltzing into class with studs on our ballets.

Then again, in NYC you never know...

Book Review: Confessions of a Beauty Addict

While having some "me" time this weekend, I finished Nadine Haobsh's Confessions of a Beauty Addict.

Haobsh's character, Bella, is a beauty editor at a top notch magazine who gets the boot when the New York Post runs a sabotaging article. Find out just what life is like in the beauty industry, like the expectations and amazing perks. The thought of having a beauty closet at work makes me drool.

There is some office romance thrown in the story...but you don't want me to give it all away now do ya?

This definitely should go on the summer reading list for those beauty addicts out there. I'm SO looking forward to Haobsh's next novel which will be taking place in England. I'm sure it won't disappoint!

Just breathe

Life is coming at me full speed this week!
Looking forward to catching up on blogging (and yoga) this weekend.
Until then I'll keep telling myself, "just breathe."

Luxe Jewels (for LESS!)

Can you tell I am into jewelry right now?

Designers Erickson Beamon joined the "Recession Chic" bandwagon and created a jewelry line for Target. The line screams glamorous. I am really into the big cocktail rings and the jeweled cuff bracelets. Of course, I was just in Target this weekend and forgot to stop by the jewelry section...dammit! I will have to wait until I venture back to the suburbs next month.

Prices range from 19.99 - 49.99

SPOTLIGHT: Sweetiepie Restaurant

As you know, I rang in my golden birthday at Sweetiepie Restaurant. Located at 18 Greenwich Avenue @ 10th Street, NY. Sweetiepie has a glam feel without being too stuffy. This restaurant is both adult and kid-friendly. The bar had gum balls, licorice and pretzels to munch on. From the sweets to the decor, Sweetiepie is to die for...

(we opted out of sitting in the bird cage, maybe next time...)

Our candle light dinner, such pretty presentation.
Can you tell I am a New Englander? I choose the Fish & Chips.

And for dessert...
My good friend, Laur & I stuffed after a fabulous dinner.
I highly recommend Sweetiepie for those young and old.

Good luck, anyone?

Legend says a turned-up trunk brings you good luck!

I am loving this pendant necklace from Juicy Couture.
