Are you wearing fur? Think again

Anyone who knows me can tell you I am not a big fan of animals. I think I am missing the gene that everyone else has where you want a dog or cat in your life...

No thanks, not for me.

However I do think it is extremely cruel what is being done to these animals to create clothing. Watch this video and educate yourself, then pass it on to a friend.

Hello Kitty for MAC

Calling all Hello Kitty fans...

Hello Kitty for MAC debuts in February. Even though I'm a big MAC fan, I am not a Hello Kitty one. Therefore I probably won't be purchasing anything from this collection. This reminds me however that it is time I use my MAC gift card I received from a loyal blog reader!

I'll keep you posted on my adventures & purchases at MAC

REVIEW: 3 Tarts

After having brunch in Chelsea yesterday, I realized I was in the neighborhood of 3 Tarts! I came across these charming square marshmallows at first on Chic Sensibility, then loved them so much I posted them on my blog. Well I have been talking about them ever since saying how I need to check this place out.

As Time Out NYC says, I am officially obsessed! This cute bakery/boutique is located on the corner of 20th st. and 9th ave. Not only will find you the sweet edible treats but also decorative candles, journals, glasses, tea sets and the list goes on. It's very quaint and just perfect!

On your mark, get set...

The Manolo Blahnik sale starts today, as reported by Madison Avenue Spy. It will be going on all week and savings are around 50-75% off. Note that the boutique closes for stocking 2-3pm.

Speechless

I am still on a cloud 9 from Tuesday's events.
It amazes me how much we are coming together as a nation.
These pictures are worth a million words yet leave me speechless...

The infamous question: "Who is she wearing?"

And the winner is... Jason Wu

Inaugural Fashion

Michelle Obama gives the fashion industry the kind of 'hope' that her husband gives the country. She graced the White House steps wearing Cuban-American designer, Isabel Toledo. Michelle looked classy and elegant, yet the mellow yellow added a bit of pop & personality.

Now on to my girls, Malia and Sasha, who rocked J.Crew! Unfortunately the coats are custom-made so no one will be getting their hands on them. Give it up to whoever put together Sasha's orange and pink combination. I love it & think I might give it a try - we'll see.

How about Aretha's hat? I know my mother is going bananas over this hat. I have to admit it I am diggin' this hat. It's fun! Currently trying to google who created this headpiece, but no luck.

It's a beautiful day!

"Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real.
They are serious and they are many.
They will not be met easily or in a short span of time.
But know this, America —
they will be met."

"Starting today, we must pick ourselves up,
dust ourselves off and begin again the work of remaking America"

01.20.09 will forever belong to President Barack Obama.
Michelle & girls looked stunning! (more on that tomorrow)

Get excited! February Issue of VOGUE

Calling all fashionistas
& GOSSIP GIRL fans...

I love Vogue and all, but the only time I actually purchase the magazine is September and February. These two issues are filled with what is in store for Fall and Spring. Well this year's spring issue goes to the lovely Blake Lively (love her)!

I'm grabbing my copy today,
stay tuned.

I have a dream

....I will dance on Broadway.
...of celebrating my 30th birthday in Paris.
...Suze Orman will be in charge of the U.S. Federal Budget.
...I will pay off my student loans in 10 years (or less!), not 30.
...by 2020, I will have a townhouse in the village and a summer home in Martha's Vineyard.

... & one day there will be peace on earth.

Never stop dreaming!

Baby, it's cold outside

My friend, Chic Sensibility, found these great marshmallows from 3Tarts located here in NYC (20th & 9th Avenue). These square marshmallows are fun and of course, chic.

Have a great weekend & stay warm! xo

And I died (again)

A tribute to the fabulous Rachel Zoe.
These shirts are BANANAS!

Searching for the perfect black boot

As I was browsing through Rachel Zoe's favorite picks on Piperlime, I fell in love with this pair of Lauren by Ralph Lauren May boots. They look classy and comfortable.

Ok, so getting back into the swing of things has taken longer than expected.
I will be back in full blogging mode as soon as I get my act together.
Until then...

Resolution #139: to buy myself more jewelry!

Nicole Richie's jewelry line, HOUSE OF HARLOW 1960, launches this month at LA Kitson Boutique. Her line has a vintage feel to it, let's you channel your inner hippie. I find her prices reasonable and might just invest in an item or two.

Here are few pieces I enjoy...

Palladium Large Antique Large Bangle $35

Gold Plated Medallion Locket $68
Palladium Plated Hoop Earring $38

Palladium Antique Ring $12
Black Leather Ring $38
