Word of the Day: GIVE

In the midst of March Madness don't forget to take time to help others. Even if it's just a $5, everything and anything helps. Looking for a way to give back? Check out the following organizations my friends, Katie and Sally, are raising money for...

AVON WALK FOR BREAST CANCER - deadline is May 15th
2008 RALLY AGAINST CANCER - deadline is April 8th

Remember, "PEOPLE first, then money, then things"
Yes, I just used Suze Orman's (love her) infamous quote!

A little cupcake appreciation

Ok, I have to admit I have a slight obsession with cupcakes. I just love the little damn things. Today I came across a blog dedicated entirely to cupcakes. I was impressed at the variety and styles. They are like little creations of art!

Like Obama says, "It's time for change"

I decided to take Obama's advice and change my hair style. I paid a visit to my favorite hair stylist while I was in Massachusetts this past weekend. Ms. Katelyn Ryan from Stephen & Co. (Dartmouth, MA) is AMAZING! I am channeling Carrie Bradshaw's look in Season 6, Part 1...surprise, surprise.

I am thrilled with my new hair cut and recommend taking Obama's advice. Change is GOOD.

Old Navy's new look

I ventured over to Old Navy to check out their new line. Now I understand what all the hype is about. Old Navy has really stepped it up a notch for Spring/Summer 2008. I found cute cotton dresses for the summer for $29. I was also impressed with their sleepwear! I bought a pink and white pajama dress for $14. Their accessory line is complete with cute clutches and scarfs. Old Navy also came out with a new bath and body line complete with body wash, soaps and candles that actually smell delicious!

Christian Siriano, this blog's for you

I finally watched the last episode of Project Runway Season 4 last night. I decided to dedicate today's blog to Mr. Christian Siriano. If you don't know who this man is google him now. I have a feeling this incredible talent will be around for a long time. Christian was definetly my favorite, not only because of his incredible fashion design but his personality topped it off.

The last episode put the frosting on the cake. His line was AMAZING!

Christian, if your out there reading this I have one thing to say to you - You are one FIERCE mother*****! xo

Recap of Think Pink Event

As I mentioned on Tuesday, Schenelle, Shay and I attended DEX New York's Think Pink event. It was a fun-filled girl's night drinking tea cocktails, freebie manicures and massages by Spa Chinois, makeovers by DEX New York Makeup Artists and pink hair extensions put in for $15. There was a silent auction which all proceeds went to the Young Survival Coalition. Let's just say I placed a bid on two dozen cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery...and won, haha. Two dozen cupcakes from Magnolia!! Your probably wondering what I am going to do with two dozen cupcakes, well thank goodness my birthday is coming up.

Let's talk about the makeover by DEX. DEX has their own line of mineral makeup. I was curious to find out what this mineral makeup hype is all about. Mineral makeup is natural makeup that comes from the earth. My makeup artist, Carmouche, told me I could even sleep in the makeup! That's how good it is for your skin. Now I understand what all the hype is about. Knowing that I am a loyal MAC fan I was a little hesistant to try something new. However, I was really impressed with DEX's mineral makeup line. The foundation colors are great & the eye shadows go on smooth and have a pop like MAC.

Here are a few pictures of our makeovers...

Think Pink

DEX New York hosted Think Pink "A Gardern Tea Party" for Women's History Month benefiting the Young Survival Coalition, local organization promoting breast cancer awareness in young women and helps women who have survived breast cancer.

I am exhausted from the unlimited Tavalon tea cocktails, pink manicures, makeovers from DEX New York MU Artists and of course those mini pink cupcakes.

Check back later to read about the event...GOOD NIGHT!

Let's talk BIG necklaces

Statement necklaces seem to be all the rage lately. Say farewell to stringy necklaces that you can wrap around your neck a million times.

I am in love with this J. Crew bubble necklace, which for $150 is a bit pricey. Of course I am waiting for it to go on sale.

If you decide to try a statement necklace keep this in mind...
*Choose a bold necklace with chunky details.
*AVOID a necklace that's ten different colors & has all kinds of weird shapes going on.

Yay or Nay?

Last night was the season premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City. I just finished watching the first episode and have mixed feelings about the show. I am taking a liking to Bethenny and her views though. The rest I'm not really a fan of...yet. Somehow I always get roped into these cheesy reality shows.

What's your take on these new housewives?
Is anyone missing the Orange County housewives like me?

Wildchild Nation

who is Wildchild?
a spirit inside all of us that steers our passions in avenues of brilliance and creativity. it is the colors we wear in our dreams, the ideas we never speak out loud. it is a fugitive spirit, always running from definition, determined to stay free.

we are Wildchild Nation.
for the people who don’t hear it, for those who don’t see it, and for the rest who are afraid of it, we are here to
set yours free...

Hip-hop choreographer Luam launched L.U.A.M (Love Understands All Music) by Wildchild Nation clothing line in 2007. I love the line because it's not just tees, sweatshirts and sweatpants (which are amazing). Their Spring 2008 collection includes chic blazers, dresses and shirts. For all you Laurieann Gibson fans there is a limited edition Boom Kack! hoodie out.

Check out Wildchild Nation to view the line. For hip-hop lovers, dancers and those alike - you will enjoy L.U.A.M. by Wildchild Nation.
